Fujifilm Dimatix

FUJIFILM Dimatix LOGO
FUJIFILM Dimatix's MEMS-based technology lets inkjet printing create products like displays and electronics, RFID antennas, smart tags, DNA arrays, smart packaging and wearable electronics.

The Dimatix Materials Printer is a low-cost, cartridge-based piezo inkjet printing system that enables direct deposition of functional fluids - including nanoparticle-based metallic and organic materials - onto virtually any surface, including plastic, glass, ceramics, and silicon, as well as flexible substrates from membranes, gels, and thin films to paper products, over an area of 200 x 300mm. It is designed to minimize waste of expensive fluid materials and eliminate the cost and complexity associated with traditional product development and prototyping. The platen can be heated to 60 degrees Centigrade to thermally manage substrates during printing. An integrated drop watcher lets researchers capture and analyze in-flight droplet formation and firing. It uses 16-jet printhead cartridges available in 1pL and 10pL drop volumes.

FUJIFILM Dimatix, the world's premier provider of piezoelectric inkjet printheads and systems, has more than 32 years of experience in advancing the performance of drop-on-demand dispensing devices and applications, and its state-of-the-art technology provides solutions for the electronics, displays, life sciences, photovoltaics and many other industries.

Bavarian Research Alliance

Bavarian Research Alliance GmbH (BayFOR, www.bayfor.org) is a non-profit association promoting Bavarian stakeholders within the European Research Area. BayFOR is financed by the Bavarian state government. It supports scientists and stakeholders from the private sector on European research funds, mainly the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation "Horizon 2020". As a partner organisation in the EU-funded Enterprise Europe Network BayFOR supports SMEs, Research Institutions and universities for applying EU research projects, with our main activities:

  • We have adequate resources and expertise to support efforts competing for research funding
  • We provide a sound knowledge of regional, national and European research funding
  • We identify project partners in your area of science and business
  • We support you from project initiation to completion
  • We assist you in project management issues.

For information about supported EU-projects (FP7 funded) visit our booth: SusFuelCat,OrgBio, Osniro...
Within SusFuelCat BayFOR is Management and Dissemination partner and in the FP7 funded ITN projects OrgBio, Osniro BayFor is Trainee partner.

SusFuelCat aims to boost Europe’s expertise on catalysts for sustainable fuel production, especially hydrogen, by the process of Aqueous Phase Reforming (APR). Here, SusFuelCat aims to gain fundamental material structure-property relationships for the catalyst using model supports and metal nanoparticles. A strategy will be developed to optimize APR catalysts based on this fundamental understanding and being closely related to market prices of materials and dependency on imports from outside of Europe. Hydrothermal stability will be addressed by carbon supports and studied in long-term tests. The two primary objectives of SusFuelCat are:
a) To unleash the potential of carbon supported catalysts in establishing APR as an energy efficient process to convert different biomass based streams to sustainable fuels and to decrease time to market for commercial APR catalysts.
b) To generate data allowing the design and scale up of the APR process towards a further demonstration level. The final target is to show the technical and economic viability of the overall process, from synthesis to efficiency and durability of the nano-catalytic system.
It is expected that SusFuelCat will establish understanding of fundamental structure-property relationships in order to allow for leveraging the potential of carbon based catalysts in APR.
OSNIRO is developing new organic materials that absorb and emit light in the near infrared (NIR) range.
OrgBIO intends to develop new simple, small and portable sensors with high sensitivity based on organic materials, which can perform fast but reliable diagnostic procedures.

NanoMEGAS SPRL

nanomegas logo
NanoMEGAS was created in 2004 by a team of scientists and experts in the field of electron crystallography and catalysis. Inspired by important developments in the field and also contemporal work developed with precession electron diffraction by Vincent and Midgley in Bristol UK(1994), our team developed and was the first to commercialize in 2004 a universal precession device (« spinning star ») for TEM.

Being an important part /contribution of this scientific «success strory» (and being proud of it) around 10 years later precession diffraction / electron crystallography applications are present in almost every major electron microscopy /X-Ray crystallography scientific congress, with more than 280 publications (2004-2016) from various laboratories worldwide and dedicated issues of major scientfic microscopy journals.

Our precession diffraction related instrumentation (DigiSTAR precession unit) is actually present in more than 100 laboratories all over the world. Beam precession into the ASTAR device provides orientation and phase maps at 1-3 nm resolution (FEG-TEM) for a variety of materials (metals, semiconductors, oxides etc..) without any need of particular specimen preparation. Precession diffraction can be also very useful to obtain STRAIN maps at 2-4 nm resolution with FEG-TEM (sensitivity < 2 x 10-4) , providing extremely important information for materials scientists. Precession diffraction is also useful to enhance /optimize EELS / EDS spectra and allow to have better data. The recently developed with our Partner AppFive TOPSPIN platform allows the user to perform advanced analytical precession diffraction experiments with the TEM.

NanoMEGAS also participates as an SME Partner in the largest EU project (ESTEEM-2) on transmission electron microscopy. We are active Partners of IUCr (International Union of Crystallography/Electron Crystallography Comission). NanoMEGAS has collaborations with CNRS /INP Grenoble/France, Univ of Mainz /Germany , Univ of Barcelona /Spain , IIT Pisa /Italy , CNR Bari, Univ of Leiden -Netherands in developing new exciting electron crystallography applications.

On basis of own international patent right registrations the company MELEC GmbH wins a prominent position in the area of pulse plasma generation. A large number of publications of well-known research institutes using MELEC's pulse technology have been published.

MELEC GmbH's SIPP–technology (SIPP Super Imposed Pulse Power) offers significant advantages in HiPIMS technology.

The Combination of unipolar pulse HiPIMS plasma with a synchronized DC-plasma using a single magnetron allows a higher deposition rate compared to a conventional HiPIMS pulse sequence. The combination of HiPIMS and mid frequency is one possibility to solve problems as the poisoning of the reduction of arcing during the reactive sputtering mode.
